Setting Up Your Google Ads Account
Step by Step guide and video on how to setup your Google Ads account to share manager access with an agency.
How to Set Up Your Google Ads Account to Share with Your Agency
Today, we’re going to take you through the super quick and easy process of how to set up a Google Ads account and share it with your agency (Another Monday)
Now, sit back, relax and let’s dive into this straightforward guide to ensure you’re all set and ready to boost your ad game. Ready?
Step 1: If you have a business, setup a Google Workspace Account
If you don’t already have a Google email address, you’ll need to create one.
While these are free, if you have a business, using “@gmail.com” isn’t great. Invest in your business and go for a more professional email address using the Google Workspace subscription.
Dont be afraid of investing in your business, this is a low cost investment that will help you appear more professional from day one.
Fill out all necessary information and you’re good to go. You’ll be asked if you’d like personalized guidance – but you don’t need it because I’ll be your personal guide. So, click “No” and then click “Submit”
Step 2: Go to Google Ads
The first thing you’ll need to do is open your browser and type in “Google Ads” in Google.
Usually, the first link that appears is the one you want to click on. Go ahead and click on that link.
Step 3: Choosing Your Ads Credit
Disclaimer: This may be different when you’re singing up depending on the promos Google is running at the time.
Instead of just clicking “Start Now,” you can select a credit that will kick in once you spend a certain amount on Google Ads.
Shown here, within the first 60 days, if you spend $500 in ads, they’ll give you $500 back to use on future ads. There are also a few other options if you plan on spending more money.
So, select the offer you prefer (the one you are most likely to meet). If you don’t actually spend the money, you won’t get the credit, but selecting the offer means that if you do spend it, you do get it. Simple as that. Now let’s move on to the next stage by clicking “Claim Now”.
Step 4: Skip Campaign Creation and Confirming Account Settings
Google Ads may attempt to have you create a campaign right away, skip this part if you’re handing off your account to an agency.
Once you’re at this point, the next task is to confirm some account settings.
Step 5: Finalizing and Sharing Your Account
Now, once you’ve completed creating your Google Ads account, you’ll see a 10-digit number at the very top. That’s what you’ll need to share with your agency or me. Just copy this number and email it to me. I will then send you a request from my Google Ads manager account.
Next Steps: Accepting Access Requests
Once you’ve received the request (you may receive an email letting you know that Another Monday has requested access).
Navigate to “Admin”, then “Access and Security”.
Here, you’ll see a tab for managers where you’ll find that Another Monday (that’s me) has sent a request to manage your account.
Simply click “Accept” and grant access. Voila!
Another Monday is now managing your Google Ads account.
Conclusion
And there you have it – a quick, short, and easy setup for your Google Ads account!
While the process is much more straightforward compared to Facebook, Google Ads remains one of the most effective ways to advertise depending on your business type.
